Three categories of transmedia
1. Transmedia with a steadfast master media
A transmedia in which the central plot of the story unfolds on one media platform (the master media of the storytelling) and steadfast because the story on this master media is locked and cannot be influenced be the actions of the audience. See diagram
2. Transmedia with a mutable master media
The central plot of the story is also told on one media platform (the master media of the storytelling), as for the previous transmedia category. But, in this case, the master media is not locked and can be influenced by the actions of the audience, it’s a mutable master media. See diagram
3. Transmedia without master media
The story is spread almost equally on many media platforms. It is impossible for the spectator to follow the story without looking at all the media platforms. There is no main media of the storytelling.
See diagram
